Revenue Survey

Boundary (Revenue) Survey is basically carried out to determine the length, direction of land lines and to establish the position of these lines on the ground that has been described either graphically (Plat) or in writing (Deed).

The work usually consists of the following:

•   Property boundary is in dispute.
•   Boundary location is unknown or unclear.
•   Before improvements are made to the property (buildings, fences, excavation, etc.)
•   To stop encroachments from adjoining owners.
•   To establish easements and rights of way, Land Title Conflicts etc.
•   When buying, selling, investing in or developing a property.

Topographic Survey

Topographic Survey is carried out to measure the elevation of points on a particular piece of land, and present them as contours on a plot. From this information a three-dimensional map may be prepared on collecting the required field data.

Topographic survey map shows the shape and location of both natural and artificial features within a determined area as well as the surface drainage of water which helps in designing layouts and locations of buildings, road etc.

The work usually consists of the following:

•   Establishing horizontal and vertical control that will serve as the framework of the survey.
•   Determining enough horizontal location and elevation (usually called side shots) of ground points to provide enough data for plotting when the map is prepared.
•   Locating natural and man-made features.
•   Computing distances, angles, and elevations.
•   Drawing the topographic map.
